Galentine’s is the perfect time of year to go all in on celebrating your female friendships. Thankfully for us introverted types, you don’t necessarily have to go out to go all in. Some of the best memories are made right at home with close friends. Here are some creative Galentine’s Day ideas to try with your besties this year!
1. Junk Journaling
I personally love this idea because it actively helps me with my overly-sentimental-trash-hoarding-problem. The first step is admitting it, right? Even beside this very valid reason, I promise there are so many things that make this fun.
I like to think of junk journaling as “not your mother’s scrapbooking”. It lets you be creative without restrictions and I think that’s something all of us girls need in our lives. If you give you guests a heads up, they can start collecting little junky gems leading up to the event. We’re talking the cute liner paper from the local cafe or stickers from their last Glossier order. Whatever it is, each person can bring their own collection of personal paraphernalia to the party.
As the host you can provide some glue sticks, old magazines, or newspapers to get everyone started on their spreads.

There’s nothing I love more than a movie night. My best advice for choosing the perfect Galentine’s Day movie is to choose a movie from what I’ve dubbed the Golden Era of Rom-Coms. This includes any rom com ranging from 1995-2010. While I’ll save a detailed list for another post, there’s just something about these movies that have the perfect amount of cozy for a girls night in. You truly can’t go wrong with a rom-com that was made within that timeframe.
Espresso Martini?
What pairs better with a movie than mocktails? This is another opportunity where your guests can get their creative juices flowing as a group activity, or if you want to play bartender and serve everyone yourself, feel free!
The lovely thing about serving mocktails is that they’re a safe bet. Whether you have friends who are sober, sober-curious, or expecting, they can all enjoy a drink without any awkward conversations.
You can choose from so many mocktail options, but for a fan favorite, check out our recipe for the perfect espresso martini (decaf or regular) here. Just in case, I’ll link a few of the key ingredients below to get you started.
This non-alchoholic coffee liqueur can be substituted for regular coffee liqueur in mocktail or even baking recipes. Not only that, the packaging is beautiful and would look lovely on any bar cart.
If you’re looking for another perk to hosting at home, it allows you to tailor all ingredients so to your dietary needs. In addition to a zero-proof espresso martini, I love having the option of making a decaf version as well. This is great if you’re throwing a party later in the day, or if you or any of your friends are sensitive to caffeine (I know I am).
I’m linking below my all time favorite instant espresso. Don’t be fooled by the word instant. I promise you, it’s so good and by the time you’re finished pouring hot water over it, you would never know it’s instant. It tastes incredible and even gets the perfect crema on top.

3. Airdry clay
Now, I’ll be honest, I have not gotten around to this craft yet, or at least for the last several decades. But I have fond memories of using (I believe) this exact clay as a kid and remember having a blast with it! Another creative activity where the possibilities are endless.
This Das Clay is Made in Italy. Here, the white color is linked, but it also comes in a Terra Cotta color if you want a more natural, earthly look to your piece. They come in various sizes as well.
You can shape small pieces into fruit, baked goods, or mini vases, attach magnets to decorate your fridge.
You can also make little trinkets or dishes as well. Once your clay is completely dry, you can paint it whatever color or design you want with acrylic paint. Be sure to seal the finished piece with varnish after the paint completely dries, then let the varnish completely dry before using. This will leave your piece with a little bit of a sheen and will make it more durable so it’ll last as a sweet memory of your Galentine’s Girls Night! Have fun with your girlies and party on!
