Congratulations on your latest piercing! It’s so exciting to have a fresh piercing, but can be a bit intimidating trying to care for the area during the healing process. I’m here to help you keep the fun going and avoid any piercing party crashers that might try to show up.
Here are my favorite products to help your ears heal up quick and easy!

This one is a personal favorite of mine. I’ve used this exact pillow for over three years now and it was a game changer when it came to the ear piercings I’ve gotten recently.
Unlike a regular pillow, they have ear holes in them! If you’re a side sleeper like me, this is a total game changer for the healing process after an ear piercing.
An ear piercing pillow provides neck support while leaving room for you ears. This product is perfect for side sleepers, but especially those with pierced ears, giving the area enough room to heal without irritation throughout the night.
2. SALINE SOLUTION
If you’re wondering how to clean and infected ear piercing or how to keep your piercing from becoming infected, this will do the trick. When I got my first helix piercing, my ear piercer told me not to use alcohol on the new piercing which honestly was a surprise to me! I was told the same thing when I got my second ear lobe piercing as well.
Saline solution is a great option for ear piercing care. Sterile wound washes help flush out the are without the sting of alcohol and can be applied directly from the container or on a cotton swab applied directly to the piercing.
The ear piercers near me told me the best thing to use is actually saline solution or ‘wound wash’. This is because it flushes out the area without being too harsh on the sensitive area.
3. Gold Plated Jewelry
While you shouldn’t be changing your initial piercing jewelry for a good few months, when that time finally comes, it’s important to make sure that the earrings you get are at least gold plated – especially if you have sensitive ears.
I know what you’re thinking – isn’t gold plated jewelry expensive? While it can be, there are so many brands that have affordable gold plated options.
But affordable doesn’t always mean low quality. One of my favorite brands is Pavoi. They have so many affordable gold plated options. I wear their jewelry in the shower, to the gym, at the pool and I’ve never had any issues even with a helix piercing which can be even more sensitive than my regular piercings.
